ST PATRICK’S DAY: the annual FESTIVAL SERVICE for St Patrick’s Day will take place on Tuesday 17th March at 11.30am in DOWN CATHEDRAL (Downpatrick). The service is always creative and geared for all ages. This year the preacher is the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The service is followed by Irish stew and apple pie in the marquee adjoining the cathedral. There is no charge for the food, but we need to know numbers for catering purposes. We could go as a group, leaving Glengormley Presbyterian Church at 9.45am and getting back at about 3.30pm. If you would like to come, please sign the sheet in Mosaic. For more information see Paul Symonds.

Solar Eclipse……….enter the twilight zone …….

There will be a partial solar eclipse on Friday morning 20th March, when most of the sun will be covered by the moon and the daylight will darken considerably. As such things don’t happen too often why not share the experience with others and join with us at the Mosaic Cafe from 8.30am onwards.  I’m informed that the twilight zone will last between 8.30 and 10am.  Coffee/tea and treats will be available as usual.

COMPUTER CLASSES: Hopefully those of you who were on the waiting list for the next computer classes in Mosaic have already been contacted by Jenny to let you know that the NRC/ Ashton funding has been withdrawn and so the classes can not go ahead. If she did not manage to get you, apologies, but the class will not be able to run now. We are exploring alternatives.

Thanks

Cecil Robinson and all the family circle would like to thank everyone who supported them with cards, prayers, flowers and calling at the house at the sudden passing of his son Michael who died on holidays in Rome. Thanks also for the refreshments that were provided after the service, it eased the burden on the family. Thanks also to Rev. Brice and the Session for their support and to Helen Duff for singing the lovely hymn “In Christ alone.”

PRESENTATION: Following the Annual Meeting, Robin and Ruth McBride were presented with very generous gifts; a beautiful painting of Dunluce Castle and several hotel vouchers. These were very much appreciated and they wish to thank the members of the congregation.
