CONGREGATIONAL NOTICES

Town Hall meeting ideas – let’s make them happen! Are you excited about the potential of our refurbished church foyer to help us reach out to the local community? Would you like to have a part in getting a church café up and running a couple of days a week from September? Please join us this Thursday evening from 7:00 – 9:00pm in the foyer as we follow up on suggestions made at the Town Hall meeting in November or speak to Alison Orr or Hazel Kyle if you are interested in being involved in helping out in any way.

CHRISTIAN AID: Sunday 12th May – helpers needed to distribute Christian Aid envelopes after church.  Lunch will be provided.  Please sign the sheet at the sign-up desk in the vestibule or speak to Derek Kyle.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK 12TH MAY—19TH MAY: Every May volunteers go into their community to collect door-to-door. In 2012 house-to-house collections raised more than two-thirds of Christian Aid Week’s total of over £12m. This money has helped to transform lives around the world, supporting poor communities to find their own solutions to poverty. In Glengormley Presbyterian Church we have over the years built up a team of collectors; however, due to age or illness each year we need others to join the team. If you feel that you could help this year please speak to either Sally Grant or David Farrow. If you do not have the opportunity to give to Christian Aid through the week please place your contribution on the offering plate on Sunday 19th May.

Prayer Diary

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians Ch 5 v 16 – 18

Monday 29th April Pray for all the leaders of the Holiday Bible Club as they plan for this summer’s outreach to children.  As invitations are sent out, pray that the children who receive them will want to come along to this event.

Tuesday 30th April Pray for those who are going on summer outreach teams. Pray that they would get to know others in their team and that God would use this time to bring them close to him.

Wednesday 1st May Pray for the Street Pastors who were commissioned last Sunday night. Pray that as they walk the streets of Glengormley, they will be able to listen to, care for and help those who  they come into contact with on Friday and Saturday nights.

Thursday 2nd May Pray for those who come to Parent and Toddlers that they would see Christ in the leaders and helpers who befriend them.  Pray that as another year comes to an end and some children move on to school, that adults and children would be blessed by the time they have spent with us.

Friday 3rd May Pray for the children who come to FoG. Give thanks for the opportunity to share the gospel story with them and pray that they would put their trust in Christ as their saviour.

Saturday 4th May Ask God to be with the group who are investigating how the vestibule could be used to reach our community. Pray that bold and wise decisions will be made which will enable us to connect with people who pass our building. Pray that God will show you how you could be part of this outreach work.

Sunday 5th May As we meet together today, pray that we would come expecting to meet with Christ.  Pray that the praise will lift up His name and that His word will be a challenge to all who come.
