hello from kenya

Hi all,

we have made it through our first week in joska and have returned to nairobi for some down time. The buillding work is going great. We have been lying 2×2 slabs (flagstones) for the classroom floors. It’s hard work but there is something that everyone can manage to do. The kids are great and we have been made to feel really welcome. Some of the team were invited to one of the classes late night devotions. This is a short time of praise and worship lead by the young people themselves. It’s great to see how passionate they are about worshipping and praise.

All the team are doing grand. Thankfully no major issues with sickness or injury.

Thanks for all the posts so far we had some time last night to read through them and see the support we have back home.

We ask that u keep us and the school at joska in your thoughts and prayers as we look forward to a 2nd week of work.

Welcome to the Kenya2012 blog! Here we hope to keep you all up to date with events and happenings from Joska and Niarobi… We’re not too sure what sort of access we’ll have to an internet connection but we’ll do our best to keep you all up to date as much we can.

It would be great to see some comments of encouragement and prayer to let us know you guys here (back home) are continuing to support us on this mission trip…

First Team/Wall Building Day

So Gilly our team leader thought it might be a good idea that as we are going to kenya to build walls pretty much he thought it might be wise to get some practice in…..

If only we had a wall that needed building… Oh but whatta know Gilly just happens to need a wall built at the front of his house. Let’s just say we got plenty of practice moving large concrete blocks from one place to another. Cheers for the practice Gilly!

p.s. Yes the wall is still standing.
