Announcements 7th Feb

Welcome.  The theme of our morning worship is “Love is Kind” this is a quotation from 1 Corinthians 13 and is the second in our series Building Relationships with God, in particular we will be studying the Story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10.25-37.  Last Wednesday we launched our 40 Day programme and many turned up to purchase the book “Building Relationships with God” if you were unable to be there take the opportunity today to join up and acquire the book.

 

Today commence our AV Upgrade Appeal, envelopes are available on the vestibule table if you did not get one last week.  We ask you to give so that others ministries inn the church are not affected by this necessary expense.

HOLIDAY BIBLE CLUB 2010   There will be a brief meeting (10 minutes) for all Holiday Bible Club leaders after the morning service Sunday, 7 February. Anyone new who is interested in helping at this year’s HBC will also be very welcome. The proposed dates for this summer’s HBC are Monday 28 June – Friday 2 July.

 

Scripture Union Camps and Missions 2010  Aged 17+ by this July?! Fancy serving on an SU team this summer, sharing the good news of God with children and young people? If your answer is ‘Yes’ to both these questions, then check out the SUNI website or leaflets in the Church Foyer. Application deadlines: 7 April (July teams) & 30 April (Aug. teams). Thursday Together  This week our speaker will be Joanne Lynas who will be telling us about a recent trip to Uganda and her work in a local hospital.  We commence at 2.30pm.

 

NEWS  The wedding of Ashley Armstrong and Sean O’Neill will take place on Saturday 13th February at 1pm in Glengormley Presbyterian Church

 

Thanks:  Sunday Club would like to say a big thank you to all who gave money at the Christmas Nativity Service.  We raised £271, which will be used to help us support Jose our sponsor child during the weeks we do not meet.

MEN TOGETHER: On Tuesday 23rd February at 7.30pm. in the Burney Room Mr. James Davidson is coming to give us a talk on the history of Belfast Bakeries. All ladies of the congregation are invited to join us for this interesting evening. In order determine numbers for tea, please sign the sheet on the vestibule table.

 

McKINLAY HALL CUPBOARDS: There is a MASTER PLAN on the vestibule table. The cupboards must be claimed by SUNDAY 21ST FEBRUARY otherwise they will be CLEARED and RE-ALLOCATED. Also any articles left on top will be disposed of.

 

PROPERTY SUB-COMMITTEE are asked to meet at 7.30pm. in the Minister’s Room on Tuesday 9th February, before the main Committee meeting.

REAL EVANGELISM for a RESTLESS WORLD: Rebecca Manley Pippert, regarded as one of the “liveliest and most effective communicators in the world today” will hold a seminar in Belfast Bible College on Thursday 16th February at 8pm. Information leaflets are available on the vestibule table.

 

MEN TOGETHER: ( ADVANCE NOTICE) Our next visit is to the City Hall on Wednesday 24th March. In order to handle the tour our numbers are restricted to 30 on a first come first served basis.
