Craft Club
Sometimes we are called the “Crafty ladies” but it is meant in a nice way. This is a great group of ladies, friendly, chatty and helpful many of whom have been with us since our inception nine years go.
Sometimes the tongues work harder than the hands it has to be said but that is what our group is about, a friendly chat, a laugh, good friendship. If anyone is troubled a sympathetic listening ear, a smile, a hug and cup of tea can be a wonderful remedy.
We meet in the McKinley Hall (Glengormley Presbyterian church) on Mondays 10.am – 12 noon. We have a cup of tea mid-morning and a reading and prayer.
The programme is varied:
- Knitting – we have managed to supply about 80 woollen hats and 90 scarves for the Christmas shoe Box appeal and at present we are knitting hat and scarves to supply the padre of the British Sailors society in Aberdeen.
- Card making is very popular all year round.
- Ceramic painting for Christmas presents.
- Cross stitch and tapestry.
- Jewellery – Not all ladies do all of these skills you can pick the one you like best and we will help you to develop skills in new areas if you wish.
We will be having our usual Christmas shop and a special Tea near Christmas (with the proceeds gong to charity. We also put on a Christmas display for Santa’s visit to our parent and toddlers Group.
